Do I need a licence or insurance to ride an electric bike in Estonia?
No. As long as the motor is up to 250 W and assistance stops at 25 km/h, an e-bike is legally a bicycle in Estonia, so no licence, registration or insurance is required. If a bike exceeds those limits it is classed as a moped. For everyday models within the limits, browse our city bikes.
How far can an electric bike go on one charge?
Most models cover roughly 40 to 120 km per charge. Real range depends on battery size (Wh), your weight, the terrain, wind, tyre pressure and how much motor assist you use. Each product page lists the manufacturer's estimated range.
How long does the battery take to charge?
A full charge typically takes about 4 to 7 hours with the standard charger, depending on battery capacity. You can also top up partially between rides without harming the battery.
Can I remove the battery to charge it indoors?
On many models, yes. Bikes with a removable battery, such as the Fafrees F26 Pro, let you unlock the pack with a key and charge it at home or the office, which is ideal if you park in a shed or hallway.
Can I ride an electric bike in the rain?
Yes. E-bikes are built for everyday weather and are fine in rain and on wet roads. Avoid submerging the motor or battery, wipe the bike down after very wet rides, and store it somewhere dry.
What is the difference between a city e-bike and a mountain e-bike?
A city e-bike is tuned for comfort and paved routes with a relaxed riding position, while a mountain e-bike has higher torque, sturdier tyres and suspension for trails and hills.
